Many runners loved Adidas Story Runs, also known as Adidas Story Running, because they turned an ordinary jog into an adventure. Instead of simply counting miles, you heard a story filled with suspense, emotion and motivation. Each session felt like a short journey.

That experience is no longer available in the current Adidas Running app, formerly Runtastic. Adidas has not brought the familiar Story Runs into its present product experience, leaving fans of narrative running without the feature they enjoyed.

That is disappointing because the combination of storytelling, movement and motivation solved a real problem: a run could feel meaningful even when pace and distance were not the main goal.

RUNLINE: an interactive alternative to Adidas Story Runs

RUNLINE continues the core idea of audio storytelling for runners and makes it genuinely interactive. It combines storytelling, gaming and fitness in an immersive running experience. The story does not merely play while you run; it responds to what you do.

Your movement can trigger events, change scenes and lead the story down a different path. This creates the kind of experience many runners wanted from classic Story Running: real interaction, emotion and motivation.

RUNLINE turns story running from something you listen to into something you actively control.

How RUNLINE differs from a normal audio run

A traditional guided run or audio story follows the same timeline for everyone. RUNLINE uses movement and GPS information to connect the audio experience to your actual run. A change in pace can become a pursuit, a stop can become a moment of suspense and a turn can become a genuine decision.

RUNLINE also includes guided interval sessions. Audio coaches tell you when to increase your pace and react live to whether you complete the interval. This brings together entertainment and structured training in one app.

Who is interactive story running for?

Interactive running adventures are especially useful for people who find conventional tracking repetitive, struggle to start a run or want more variety. Experienced runners can use stories for easy sessions, while beginners can focus on the adventure instead of constantly checking numbers.

You still choose your own route and remain responsible for your surroundings. The story adds a new layer to the run without replacing safe route selection or sensible training.
